This workshop offers a hands-on introduction to crisis communications. Facilitated by two communicators who have practiced crisis communications in a corporate setting, the course will show you how you can prepare your organisation for a possible crisis. Half the day is dedicated to practice and simulated interviews in front of the camera.

By the end of this workshop you will have:

  • Identified the gaps that exist in your organisation, and have a plan for addressing them.
  • Practised the first five essentials when a crisis hits.
  • Developed holding statements and press releases.
  • Applied your skills to simulated interviews.

Workshop facilitators: Patricia O'Hayer & Lyndon Hrytzak

Patricia O'Hayer has more than 20 years' experience as a communications and public affairs professional in the corporate sector, up to and including the Vice President level. She has developed and implemented issues and crisis management systems in major companies such as Tetra Pak, Baxter and Dow Corning. Other areas of expertise include change management, media relations, leadership and motivation.

Lyndon Hrytzak has 20 years' experience in communications, training and management. In addition to crisis communications, recent projects include change management communications and leveraging video in a corporate environment.

Who should attend?
This workshop is designed for mid-to senior-level communicators who are either responsible for crisis communications, or who have a role in achieving crisis readiness.

The workshop is limited to 12 people.

Non-members: €370. Fee includes lunch.

Invoices will be given out just before the start of the session, at sign-in.

Cancellations:
All cancellation requests must be made in writing and received 48 hours before the event. After that period, the event fee is due. You may, however, send a colleague in your place. If you are a member and your colleague is a non-member, or vice-versa, the fee will be adjusted accordingly.

The IABC Belgium Chapter:

  • Cannot offer refunds to delegates who fail to attend the workshop for reasons outside the control of the chapter;
  • Will not be held responsible for the travel, accommodation or other contingent expenses for delegates who fail to attend workshops for any reason;
  • Reserves the right to alter the programme, date or venue without prior notification.
