IABC Belgium is part of the International Association of Business Communicators - an international organisation with chapters around the world, linking 13,000 professionals who practice business communications as careers.

Founded in 1986, IABC Belgium is one of the oldest - not to mention, the most active - international chapters of this dynamic organisation. Our members work in all areas of communication and benefit from a regular programme of activities for networking and professional development.

Membership has grown 30% in the last 18 months to 90 members representing corporate (40%), agency (35%), association (25%) and independent (5%) communicators. Seniority and expertise varies, but many of our members have more than five years experience and some have as many as 20 years. Another 200 non-members are regularly invited to our events.

We are member-driven, focused on creating opportunities, facilitating connections and developing communications professionals. Our aim is to become the organisation of choice for communications professionals working in an international environment in Belgium.

Our events calendar is at the centre of our services. We hold between 12 and 15 events each year, providing our members valuable opportunities to learn, share information and experience, and network. Events vary in content, format and level, and include:

• Practitioner Series - Professionals from a variety of disciplines share their experience and insight. Suitable for middle to senior management.
• Training - Ideal for developing junior members of staff.
• Executive - Aimed at senior management and focused on strategic communications issues.
• Special interest groups - An opportunity for people from within a specific discipline, industry or type of organisation to discuss best practices and trends.
• Social - An informal and fun way to develop your network.
